Every great journey starts with a dream, and for Chase, the dream of opening his own cocktail bar began over a decade ago. It was a seemingly impossible dream back then, but as they say, the best dreams often do. The spark ignited at Trudy’s Texas Star, Seat 5, and although the timing wasn’t right at that moment, the dream never truly faded away.

Fast forward to a pivotal moment four years ago, right here in Fredericksburg, Texas. After a bustling Saturday in their new hometown, inspiration struck during a cigarette break. The dream was reignited, and this time, the fire burned brighter than ever. The network of professionals was growing, the stars were aligning, and the dream had found its moment.

With the unwavering support of his wife Tara and his incredible family, Chase embarked on a journey to turn that dream into reality. They found the perfect location—an old house in the Historic District, just a block from Main Street. In July 2018, while Chase and Tara were away at Tales of the Cocktail, they secured the spot.

Designing and crafting the space took two and a half years. The goal was to create a warm and inviting atmosphere, drawing inspiration from cherished hangouts throughout their lives. Finally, in late February 2020, the moment arrived—the venue was ready. But, as fate would have it, the world had other plans.

Undeterred, they opened Chase’s Place on May 9, 2020, at 25% occupancy, navigating through the challenges that the pandemic threw their way. They adapted, offering takeout, meal kits, and even curbside ‘lemonade stand’ cocktail service, all while keeping their dedicated staff employed.

Throughout this rollercoaster ride, Chase’s Place has seen its doors shut nine times in less than a year due to the pandemic. But through it all, they’ve remained resilient, and their passion for what they do has only grown stronger. Chase and Tara believe that the best is yet to come, and they’re grateful to have you, their loyal patrons, along for the ride.
